Tucker Carlson to Take O’Reilly’s 8 p.m. Time Slot. The new schedule begins on April 24, according to 21st Century Fox, with talk show The Five moving from 5 p.m. to Carlson’s old slot at 9 p.m and Eric Bolling is getting a 5 p.m. show.
Hollywood Reporter Reports:
Carlson replaced Megyn Kelly when she left last January and his show — Tucker Carlson Tonight — was an immediate hit, helped by record tune-in overall during the early days of the administration of Donald Trump. Talk show host Laura Ingraham also was among those being considered for O’Reilly’s recently vacated time slot.
The parent company of Fox News, 21st Century Fox, confirmed Wednesday that O’Reilly is not returning to the air. “After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the Company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel,” a statement read.
Internal candidates for the 9 p.m. hour had been Dana Perino and Eric Bolling. Both are currently hosts on The Five and have filled in for O’Reilly on The O’Reilly Factor. Factor contributor Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld were seen as dark horse contenders.
